Ahead of the 2022 Cazoo FishOMania at Westwood Lakes, this Saturday, 23 July. We profile all 25 anglers and tell you a little about them. 

Name – Andy Bennett

  2. Age – 37
  3. Place first went fishing – Coombes res
  4. Favourite place to fish – Whiteacres 
  5. What would you do with the £50,000 if you won – Get married 
  6. Favourite method – waggler
  7. First FishO memory – netting the last fish to win in 2019 with all my family and friends cheering
  8. Bank runner name – Paul Holland
  9. FishO Stat – Winner in 2019/2020

Name –  Adam Richards 

  1. Age – 33
  2. Place you first went fishing – Charltons Pond, Billingham 
  3. Favourite place to fish – Anywhere as long as I’m catching plenty! 
  4. What would you do with the £50,000 if you won –  treat myself to a new van and take the rest of the year off work! 
  5. Favourite method – Stick float fishing for chub
  6. First FishO Memory – the first couple of minutes of my very first FishO final, casting a feeder to the far bank turning to chat to a friend behind me to hear a huge splash from a fish-spooking near the far bank and turning round to see my rod almost being pulled in…. The perfect start…. If only it had lasted all day!

  4. Favourite place to go fishing – old Hough fisheries and Heronbrook 
  5. What would you do with the £50,000 if you won? – Pay off my debts and buy a van for my business 
  6. Favourite method –  pole shallow 
  7. First FishO Memory whether from, competing, or watching – The first was probably watching Matt Hall win
  8. Bank runner name –  Martyn Steele

  1. Nickname – “The Power” /“The Somerset Spodder”
  2. Age – 34
  3. Place you first went fishing – North Devon, aged 11
  4. Favourite place to go fishing – Chew Valley for pike
  5. What would you do with the £50,000 if you won? – Buy some new trainers, and some fuel to go fishing.
  6. Favourite method – Waggler fishing
  7. First FishO memory whether from competing or watching  – Qualifying for my first FishO from Willinghurst Fishery aged 21, using a Preston method feeder with pennies glued to the bottom for extra weight. 
  8. Bank Runner name  – Matty Dawes
  9. FishO Stat – 8th final / two-time runner-up

  2. Place 1st went fishing – A local lake called isle pool with my dad and brother catching roach and skimmers.
  3. Favourite place to go fishing – Heronbrook Fishery.
  4. What would you do with £50,000 if you won? – House deposit
  5. Favourite method: Meat fishing for carp.
  6. First FishO memory: Going to Hayfield to watch Neil Machin win the final in 2006.
